The # 2 Recovery Boiler, the # 2 Lime Kiln / Recaust Plant, and R8 Chlorine Dioxide Plant are common to both lines but otherwise everything else is separate, such as chip screening, pulp screening, brown stock washing, bleaching, etc.

1966 Beloit Kraft liner machine, with a 190” roll width, speed range between 75m/m-550m/m, with a Voith Sulzer step diffuser secondary head box, slice width 183.73 operating speed 500-1800 m/min, basis weight range (top ply only) 5.33-14.4 lbs, slice flow range 2400-3500 gpm. It is a versatile machine having run more than 135 different grades over the last 30 years. This number has been refined down to about 30 of the more profitable grades. The main one today is called Silver Liner was developed which consisted of long fibre (brown) bottom sheet for strength and a full bleached, sawdust pulp (white) top sheet for high quality printability. Silver Liner has been further refined to a number of weights and grades and now makes up 95% of the production from the machine. A small amount goes to single sheet liners (ecosheet) and saturating medium (tar paper). The machine makes a variety of linerboard products ranging from 127 gsm natural duplex and white top liner, up to 205gsm duplex linerboard. Silver Liner typically is cut into two or three rolls across the 5500 FPM winder and is wound to a diameter of 58”.
